Aedelas Blackmoore
Aedelas Blackmoore was a lieutenant (later Lieutenant General) in the Alliance army who raised the son of Durotan, and future Horde warchief, Thrall. Intending to subjugate the Orcs and in turn his fellow humans, Aedelas trained Thrall as a powerful gladiator. Finally, he was killed by Thrall himself for acts of tyranny against the Orcs and killing his own mistress (Thrall's childhood friend) Taretha Foxton.
Some rewards require marks of honor from various Battlegrounds as well (a loss in a battleground awards the winner's team 1 mark, while a victory awards 3). The game has won numerous awards and recognitions, including Gamespot's Game of the Year Award for 2004.
